The Masonic Writing Course

The Masonic Writing Course

This Course provides supporting material for the Writing Course Design offered by the United Supreme Council Northern Jurisdiction, PHA Inc. Online Masonic Academy. Craftsmen – centered teaching motivates the recommendations for Masons designing a new masonic course or redesigning an existing one.  The framework for Craftsmen centered course design, covered in the Course Design and Structure, shapes the flow of the following material.

Learning Goals

• The Course is intended to offer Masonic Craftsmen the correct writing skill to identify the allegories, symbols, sciences, and the associated meaning or definitions.

• All Freemasons need to know what is behind the many masonic allegories in our illustrated sciences and symbols.

• SR Students must obtain the ability to identify keywords in our section lectures of the first three degrees, learn how to apply what they learn in the 4th through the 32nd degrees and apply that information through the sections lectures of the first three degrees.

• As a result of course completion will provide the learner the foundational skills needed to provide lectures when lodge assembled that supports the Worshipful Master’s obligation to not open or close his lodge without suitable lecture for the good of the order. To include providing petitions to those desirous of elevation to Scottish Rite Masonry.

Learning objectives:

• Objective 1: Understand the professional way to prepare lecture material

• Objective 2: Understand the professional way to deliver their lectures to craftsmen

• Objective 3: Understand how to select keywords directly from section lecture in the ritual and form the selected keyword in a sentence.

• Objective 4: How to research masonic material for keywords to set up their lecture

• Objective 5: Using APA In-text Citation
